Nuno Bizarro was born in 1964 in Lisbon and spent his childhood in Angola.
He returned to Lisbon to pursue his education in a military school. In the 1990s he met João Fiadeiro and Lucina Fina and went on to found Re.al and Lab. with them (a venue for showcasing multidiscplinary events). He has also performed with Vera Mantero, Francisco Camacho and Clara Andermatt. He furthered his training with Carlos Caldas, Marta Donoso, Dieter Heitkamp, Howard Sonenklar, Mark Tompkins, Lisa Nelson, Lance Gries, Simone Forti and Steve Paxton, with whom he practiced improvisation work. Since 1999, he has worked with Boris Charmatz, Meg Stuart, Jennifer Lacey, Christine de Smedt, Rémy Héritier, Anne Collod and Deborah Hay. His collaborative choreographies include Revolver with Isabelle Schad, Stand By with Ludger Lamers, Histoire de… with Agnieszka Ryszkiewicz.
He lives in Angers and has performed in several pieces by Emmanuelle Huynh; he teaches on a regular basis on the training programmes at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine in Angers, as well as Essais and FAC. He is also a Feldenkrais practitioner.
