I remember of the surgical strikes that we used to watch on television during the first Gulf war. I remember of the cameras embedded on the missiles who spared the school to hit the fuel reserves. I remember of the strategic strikes against the ammunition depots, over the bridges crossing the Danube in 1999 during the NATO raids in ex Yugoslavia. I remember of the exclusive interview between the French TV journalist Patrick Poivre d’Arvor and Fidel Castro a few years ago. I know that they actually haven’t spoke together and that this so called interview was nothing but an editing of the answers between which the journalist’s question fitted on.
In 2003, without leaving Paris, i started a photo-journalism subject over the civilian people in Bagdad by shooting street scenes. Archives pursues this dissociation process of fiction and reality, using matters coming from contexts which could be qualified as realistic. In other words, by exploring through a choreographic situation what produce some perception of reality or some perception of fiction.
